Your video files never leave your device

MetricsOverlay processes all video entirely in your browser. Your video clips are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never seen by us or anyone else. All rendering, compositing, and exporting happens locally on your machine using browser APIs. When you close the tab, your video data is gone.

What we do collect

• Account information — your email address and name when you sign up. Used for authentication and to contact you about your account.
• Activity data — when you load a .fit file, we store activity metadata (sport type, distance, duration, and sensor data) to improve the product. FIT files contain activity data from your fitness device, not video or images.
• Usage analytics — general product usage data to help us improve the app. No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or billing address.

What we do NOT collect

• Your video files, frames, thumbnails, or any visual content from your clips
• Your camera roll, photos, or any files other than the .fit file you explicitly load
• Screen recordings, screenshots, or any rendered output
• Microphone, location (beyond what is in the .fit file), or contacts

Third-party services

We use third-party services for payment processing, hosting, and data storage. Your payment information is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention

Your account data and activity metadata are retained as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and a session cookie for Stripe checkout. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or update your account information at any time. Email us at the address on the contact page.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of MetricsOverlay after changes constitutes acceptance.
