Terms of Service
Last updated: April 16, 2026
1. What MetricsOverlay is
MetricsOverlay is a browser-based tool that lets you add data overlays (heart rate, speed, power, GPS maps, etc.) to your activity videos using .fit files from fitness devices. All video processing happens locally in your browser. We provide the editor, overlay rendering engine, and cloud services for account management, .fit file storage, and subscription billing.
2. Your content
You own your videos, .fit files, and exported content. We do not claim any ownership or license over your content. Your video files are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. The .fit files you load are stored in encrypted cloud storage to enable features like re-downloading, but remain yours.
3. Accounts
You need an account to use MetricsOverlay. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person. Do not share accounts or create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.
4. Free and paid tiers
MetricsOverlay offers a free tier with limited exports and overlays, and paid tiers (Pro, Studio) with higher or unlimited limits. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time and retain access through the end of your billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — reach out on the contact page.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use MetricsOverlay to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Infringe on anyone's intellectual property
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
- Circumvent subscription limits through automation or multiple accounts
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep MetricsOverlay available and reliable, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may update features, pricing, or these terms at any time. Significant changes to pricing will be communicated to existing subscribers before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
7. Limitation of liability
MetricsOverlay is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any data loss, corrupted exports, or damages arising from your use of the service. Since video processing happens locally in your browser, export results depend on your hardware, browser, and video files.
8. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for details on what data we collect and how we handle it. The key point: your video files never leave your device.
