How to Add Pace Data to Your Race Videos

Adding a pace overlay to race footage using MetricsOverlay.

After your race, export the FIT file from your watch.

Step 1: Upload the FIT file and your race video clips to metricsoverlay.com/editor.

Step 2: Add a Pace overlay. It displays min/km or min/mi based on your unit preference.

Step 3: GPS-derived pace fluctuates second to second. For race videos, keep Smooth Data on for a readable display.

Step 4: Consider adding Heart Rate alongside pace. Pace shows what you did. Heart rate shows what it cost.

Step 5: For long races, the Distance overlay adds context - viewers see pace and how far into the race you are.

Step 6: Elapsed Time is also useful for race content.

Step 7: Export. The pace value on each frame corresponds to your GPS speed at that moment.
